Crown Wallplast Filler (also known as Crown Wall Plast Skimcoat Filler or Crown Wallplast Cement Putty) is a white, cement-based, polymer-modified powder filler used to prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting. Its primary function is to provide a smooth, durable, and crack-free base.
Primary Uses
Skimming/Smoothing Surfaces: The main use is to create a perfectly smooth, even, and matt finish over rough or uneven walls and ceilings before paint application.
Repairing Imperfections: It is excellent for patching and filling minor cracks, dents, nail holes, and pinholes in existing surfaces.
Base Coat Application: It acts as a base coat on various substrates to cover unevenness.
Enhancing Paint Adhesion: By providing a uniform and smooth base, it enhances the adhesion and longevity of subsequent paint layers.
Suitable Substrates
Crown Wallplast Filler is compatible with a wide range of surfaces:
Interior and exterior plasterwork
Brick and block walls
Concrete
Timber
Key Features and Benefits
Interior and Exterior Use: Its weather-resistant and breathable properties make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Durability: The cement-based formula is designed to prevent cracks, flaking, peeling, and shrinkage, offering a long-lasting finish.
Excellent Adhesion: It bonds firmly with cement plaster, concrete, and masonry due to its cement-based composition and polymer modification.
Easy to Use: It has good workability, mixes easily with water to form a workable paste, and is easy to apply with a trowel or spatula.
Breathable: It can be used even if the walls still have some residual moisture.
Application Process (General Steps)
Preparation: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, and loose paint.
Mixing: Mix the powder with clean water to form a smooth paste (typically 2 parts powder to 1 part water by volume).
Application: Apply the filler using a steel trowel or spatula in thin, even layers.
Drying and Sanding: Allow each coat to dry completely (surface dry in about 1 hour, ready to sand in about 4 hours). Sand lightly to a smooth finish.
Finishing: Proceed with applying a primer and then the desired top coat of paint.
